The Event
What will the VBS be teaching? Our 2024 VBS theme is "Redemption Ranch: Branded In The Name of Jesus." We will teaching our precious children about the Parables of Jesus, and how to apply those lessons He taught to our daily life!
What activities will they be involved in? Your child will have so much fun as they travel from station to station learning more about God and His plan for them. They will begin the day with our volunteers in their designated groups singing, learning about our Bible lesson and topic of the day, and skits at our Opening Assembly. Then, they will rotate through all of our stations: Games and Snacks, Singing and Cool contests, Missions, Crafts, and Science Lab.
How can I prepare and help them prepare for the event? Read these scriptures to your child(ren) prior to drop off to give them a heads up what they will be learning about: Day 1 – Matthew 13:3-8 Day 2 – Matthew 18:23-34 Day 3 –Luke 15:11-32
Also, for our littles that might be a little nervous, please remind them that you will be coming back and they will be with safe and happy adults and friends while they are here with us! Please make sure that your child has gone to the restroom prior to seating them with their designated groups and leaders in the auditorium.
Logistics How do I drop off my child(ren)? On the first day, you can check your child in at our church welcome center, located in the foyer of the main auditorium, if you have not yet received your child's tag, pickup tag, and VBS information folder. Our registration is organized by alphabet. You will find the group assignment and collect your welcome packet. If you have already pre-registered and have your child's tag, pickup tag, and welcome packet, please seat them with their group leader in their designated labeled area in the Auditorium.
On days two and three you head straight to the auditorium and check them in with their group leader. Please plan to come a little early to day 1 where you will check in at our welcome center, located in the church foyer, and get checked-in a little before 9:00 as there will be as many as 200 attendees to get checked in.
Can I stay and observe? You are welcome to stay and observe for the welcome portion in the Auditorium only, but in order to do so, you must have a criminal background check completed through our church office. Once that has cleared, you are welcome to stay for the Welcome Portion only. This is to protect our children and to comply with our church policies. It also makes it very hard on our little ones to see some parents lingering while they might be having a hard time leaving their parents. We promise your child(ren) is in great hands with us, and we will love them and protect them while they are in our care!
Do I need to come inside to collect my child(ren)? Yes. We will never release children to the parking lot. From Registration, you will be given a check out ticket. Anyone who wants to check your child out at the end of the day needs to present that checkout ticket to their group leader. We must match up the person picking them up to the name tag that the child will wear. You may also be asked to see an ID. This is a security precaution. Siblings who are Youth Volunteers or attending VBS will not be allowed to pick up younger siblings. An adult must do so.
What can I expect on Friday Evening? Friday night is our special way to celebrate a fun VBS and wrap up all that we have learned. Plan to come and see your child(ren) perform a song and experience a special wrap session, as well as a slideshow displaying pictures of them and all of the fun we have had together learning more about our awesome God! Then, we will be serving a pizza supper and enjoy a carnival celebration in the parking area. This is not a drop and go event, please bring the whole family and enjoy!
